To Have or Not to Have a Mentor?

When I first started out in internet marketing, sitting in the audience of a large seminar listening to those that had made it, they all talked about having a mentor or 3 that helped them get where they were at the time. They also mentioned that they continued to have them even after they had made it to the big league. I sat there thinking “yeah right, why would I need one??” Fast forward 8 months later, I still hadn’t made a cent and kept reading, researching, learning and occassionally purchase the next “bright shiny object”, all to no avail.

Then one day I was in attendance to a free one day presentation which was part of one of the bonuses for one of the many products I had bought earlier and at the end the couple offered a mentorship program for three months. You know where I am going with this aren’t you?? You’re right, I purchased their mentorship program and you know what? I have never looked back since! The penny dropped and I finally understood what those “gurus” were talking about months earlier. At the end of that three month program, I signed up with them again and to this day they are still mentoring and coaching me which I am now just weeks away from finally launching my own internet marketing business which focus on local businesses getting an online presence or if they have one, to get a better more efficient one.

So now 19 months later not only do I have two mentors but I have now gone and added on another two more mentors, another couple. This couple will complement the work that I am currently doing with my other two mentors but will help me more on the technical aspect of my internet marketing business. I am really excited at the prospect of working with my new mentors but also have the added opportunity of being part of a mastermind group.

I had the opportunity of sitting in on one of their mastermind coaching calls the other week and was totally blown away by the quality of information that was being given and suggested to their students, so much so that I wanted to be part of their group.

Your ideal keyword research tool – Market Samurai

I use Market Samurai whenever I am researching my market, even revisiting for my current markets to check for any updates. Your keywords are the basis for all successful online ventures, it doesn’t matter what marketing method you prefer – organic SEO, PPC, CPV, paid advertising, free, social, you name it. Income Annex review…so far

Over the weekend I setup 15 websites using the Income Annex system by Mark Varnum. I managed to complete 1 on the Saturday and by Monday I was already listed on page 1 number 9  of Google for that site. The remaining 14 I completed by Sunday night and can say that most of them were on page 1, some on both page 1 and 2 come Tuesday afternoon.

What I have found really interesting by just looking at what was listing on page 1 was not the websites itself but the press releases done for the websites! So it got me thinking and in my mind this makes sense to me, is that the press release sites such as prweb.com have “fresh new content” every day which Google loves therefore, by submitting your keyword rich press release to these sites everytime you create a website (article too, I don’t know?) you are helping your cause to get ranked quickly.

I know I have heard it countless times in this past year since I ventured into Internet Marketing that you need to do press releases as one of your means of traffic generation but I have to admit I was always a bit unsure (scared maybe??) about doing it. Now that I have seen this in action and how effective it is, you can bet that I will now be including this as part of my traffic generation steps.
